Privacy Policy

DropOut is a study tool built for students. Your data belongs to you. We collect the minimum needed to make the app work, store it securely, and never share it with anyone.
What we collect
When you sign up, we collect your first name, last name, student number, and email address.
When you use DropOut, we store the messages you exchange with Ben, the course names and settings you create, any assignment and exam dates you add, and the PDF documents you upload.
We do not collect anything beyond what you explicitly provide.
How we store it
All your data is stored in Supabase — a secure, managed database platform. Supabase stores data on servers based in Europe (EU West region), which means your data is subject to European data protection standards.
Your uploaded PDFs are stored in Supabase Storage, also in the same EU region. They are private to your account and never accessible to other users.
Your messages are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
What we never do
- We never sell your data to anyone — ever.
- We never share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
- We never use your course content, messages, or documents to train AI models.
- We never show your data to other students or staff.
Third-party services
DropOut uses the Anthropic API to power Ben's responses. When you send a message, it is processed by Anthropic's API to generate a reply. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle API requests — they do not use API data to train their models by default.
No other third-party services receive your personal data.
How to delete your account
You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at privacy@dropout.study. We will delete everything — your profile, messages, courses, and uploaded files — within 7 days.
If we add an in-app deletion option in the future, this page will be updated.
